Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin stated in an interview in Bangkok that even if Binance were to launch a 51% attack on Ethereum, it would ultimately fail. Buterin explained that such an attack would result in Binance losing billions due to penalties and minority soft fork slashing. He emphasized that Ethereum's current security is excessive, with an attack cost estimated at $48 billion. Buterin suggested that by slightly lowering economic thresholds and enhancing the robustness of the P2P network and consensus layers, Ethereum's overall security could be improved.
