A hacker exploited the THEO token contract on Base to mint 19 million tokens, which were immediately swapped for 700.8 ETH worth approximately $1.76 million. The stolen funds were subsequently transferred to Ethereum mainnet via a cross-chain bridge. THEO plummeted 92% over the past 24 hours following the exploit, as the massive unauthorized token supply severely impacted market pricing on the Base network.
