Elon Musk's AI model Grok is struggling to keep pace with its rapidly advancing competitors, as user growth shows signs of stagnation. Despite initial success following its integration with Musk's social platform X, Grok's downloads have significantly declined, dropping from over 20 million in January to approximately 8.3 million in April, according to AppMagic data. A recent survey by Recon Analytics highlights Grok's challenges, revealing that only 0.174% of U.S.-based AI users and professionals are willing to pay for the service, a figure virtually unchanged from the previous year. In contrast, over 6% of respondents reported paying for ChatGPT. Meanwhile, SpaceX's compute leasing deal with Anthropic raises further questions about Grok's ability to compete with industry leaders.
