The Global Digital Identity Alliance (DID) tackled key challenges in the digitization of art assets during the "Digital Assets of Artworks" session at the 2026 Hong Kong Web3 Carnival. Held on April 22 at the Marco Polo Hong Kong Hotel, the event highlighted the need for a robust identity infrastructure to support digital art assets. Eugene Xiao, Chairman of DID, emphasized that identity verification, ownership establishment, and cross-border compliance are critical hurdles in the digital art space. Xiao outlined DID's approach to integrating digital identities with art assets, proposing a three-layer architecture to ensure verifiable and interoperable identity systems. This includes identity mapping, privacy protection, and compliance verification layers. He stressed the importance of transforming digital art assets from static certificates to dynamic, operable units within the global digital economy, facilitated by DID's global identity network. The DID Alliance, headquartered in Silicon Valley, aims to create a cross-border identity network, promoting global standards and compliance. The alliance's efforts are geared towards enabling seamless identity and asset flow across jurisdictions, enhancing the operability and governance of digital art assets.
