Circle’s cross-chain transfer protocol CCTP now supports prepaid fees for fast transfers, allowing developers to quote and collect fees before execution on the source chain. The update lets fees be paid in the source chain’s native gas token or USDC, instead of being deducted from the USDC amount received on the destination chain. Circle said the change simplifies fee handling and helps ensure users receive the expected USDC amount. The prepaid fee feature currently supports USDC transfers on all EVM chains covered by CCTP. Transfers initiated from Solana are not yet supported, while transfers to Solana remain available.
