Adam Iza, a 26-year-old California man, was sentenced to 15 years in prison for his role in a kidnapping conspiracy tied to a major Bitcoin theft. The Department of Justice said Iza used a mobile phone and encrypted messaging apps to coordinate and fund an August 2024 robbery plan. Six men from Florida later carried out a violent carjacking and kidnapped the victim’s parents in Connecticut. Iza’s brother and six other participants have pleaded guilty, while remaining co-conspirators are awaiting trial.
