Blitz Wallet has integrated BTC Maps and Bitrefill into its self-custodial Lightning wallet, enhancing the ease of spending Bitcoin in real-world scenarios. The BTC Maps integration allows users to locate merchants accepting Bitcoin directly within the wallet, eliminating the need to switch between apps. Meanwhile, the Bitrefill integration enables users to purchase gift cards, eSIMs, and phone recharges using Bitcoin, all within the app's interface. Additionally, Blitz Wallet now offers users the flexibility to receive Lightning payments in either Bitcoin or USD balances, providing more control over their funds. These updates were included in version 3.3.2 of the wallet, released in December 2025, and were highlighted on social media on May 26, 2026. Blitz Wallet aims to compete with other Lightning wallets like Phoenix and Strike by offering a non-custodial service with enhanced convenience.
