U.S. stocks suffered a broad-based selloff on November 6, with the Nasdaq Composite dropping approximately 4% and the Nasdaq 100 falling 4.52%. The S&P 500 declined 2.7%, breaking below its 100-day moving average and September lows, while both Nasdaq indices fell beneath their 200-day moving averages. Market breadth deteriorated sharply, with declining stocks outnumbering gainers nearly 4-to-1 on the Nasdaq, signaling the selling pressure had spread well beyond mega-cap tech names. The AI supply chain was hit hardest across every segment. Storage stocks including SanDisk, Western Digital, Micron Technology, and SK Hynix all plunged over 10%. Chipmakers AMD, Qualcomm, and Arm Holdings also dropped more than 10%, alongside data center connectivity and optical networking firms Astera Labs, Lumentum, Coherent, Credo, and Marvell Technology. Semiconductor equipment makers Lam Research and Applied Materials fell over 10%, as did AI cloud providers Nebius and CoreWeave, and data center power supplier Bloom Energy, which saw losses approaching 18% along with SanDisk.
