General Compute, an AI compute startup focused on inference workloads, has closed a $100 million Series A round led by Blackbird Ventures and Abstract Ventures. The funding values the company at $800 million post-money, a dramatic leap from its $60 million seed-stage valuation in May 2026. The company specializes in AI inference computing using specialized chips as alternatives to Nvidia hardware. General Compute has already secured a $400 million chip procurement deal with SambaNova, while also sourcing from Positron and Cerebras.
