Zilliqa CEO Alexander Zahnd has resigned amid an ongoing security incident investigation with an external cybersecurity firm. The breach affected X-Bridge and ZRC2 proxy contracts used by certain liquidity pools, including PlunderSwap, impacting tokens zUSDT, SEED, kUSD, and Zoge. Native ZIL and the Zilliqa EVM network remain unaffected.
X-Bridge remains suspended as Zilliqa rotates all operational keys and collaborates with exchanges and law enforcement. The board has assumed direct oversight, supported by an external advisory firm focused on cybersecurity and governance, until permanent leadership is appointed. Zilliqa emphasized its focus on user fund safety and transparency, noting it will share developments with strategic partners Ltin Li and Telegram Liechtenstein.
