WAX Multichain Bridge Exploited, Attacker Extracts ~$75,000 in Cross-Chain Assets

The WAX multichain bridge suffered an exploit on October 22, with an attacker extracting approximately $75,000 in cross-chain assets spanning the WAX, Solana, and Ethereum networks. According to Blockaid monitoring data, the attacker moved roughly 52,986 USDC, 21,558 USDT, 840 DAI, 2.55 WETH, and 0.11 WBTC across five transactions. The attack mechanism involved withdrawing mapped tokens on the WAX chain without paying the corresponding underlying assets, while the bridge contracts on Solana and Ethereum still released the matched tokens.
