What Is Treasure (MAGIC)? The Gaming DAO Token Rebuilt Around AI Agents

Key Points

Discover what Treasure (MAGIC) is, how its DAO and AI agent ecosystem work, and why MAGIC surged 85% in a day. Learn key risks and how to buy safely. Explore more!

Treasure (MAGIC) is a DAO that started around games on Arbitrum, and its token rose 84.99% in a single day in early October 2026. Treasure's docs call MAGIC the token its AI agents spend on compute and on-chain services, and staked MAGIC carries the votes that steer the DAO and its treasury.

MAGIC closed that day at $0.1230 on CoinMarketCap, its highest close of 2026, up from $0.0665 the day before. Trading reached $251.3 million, 28 times the previous day's total, and almost none of it touched a blockchain. CoinGecko's market table put about 0.6% of MAGIC's volume in on-chain pools, which makes the rally an order-book event on centralized exchanges.

What Is Treasure Crypto?

Treasure crypto means MAGIC, the token of Treasure DAO, which formed in 2021 around games built on Arbitrum's Layer 2 network for Ethereum.

MAGIC launched that year as a free-mint, fair-launch token. Players who tested Treasure's early on-chain games earned it and staked it for a say in governance, according to Treasure's docs. So the people playing the games also had a vote on the DAO.

Searches for magic crypto also turn up MagicLand, a separate token with the same MAGIC ticker. Magic Eden, an NFT marketplace, has its own token called ME. Neither one is Treasure's MAGIC.

MAGIC is trending because of one day in early October 2026, and the hourly bars show two separate pushes. A jump early in the day lifted the price about 17%, and it held near $0.078 into the afternoon. A second climb from mid-afternoon into the evening then carried it to a high of $0.1266.

CoinMarketCap counted $251.3 million of MAGIC traded that day, about 25 times its daily average over the previous 30 days. That came to six times the token's closing market value of about $41.5 million, and how trading volume affects price depends on where that volume runs.

Most of it ran through centralized order books, and two local currencies stood out. CoinGecko's market table in early October 2026 put about 27% of the tracked volume against the Turkish lira and about 6% against the Korean won. Tether's USDT stablecoin carried most of the rest.

Nothing in Treasure's Snapshot votes or its Substack newsletter explains the move, since the last votes closed in March 2026 and the newest post dates from January 2026.

How Does Treasure Work?

Treasure works as a DAO where staked MAGIC votes on proposals called TIPs, and the contributors it pays build what those votes approve. Those votes run on Snapshot, which puts Treasure on the off-chain side of on-chain vs off-chain blockchain governance.

TIP-49, passed in April 2025, ended Treasure's game-publishing business. It pointed the DAO at its own products and at software to run tens of thousands of AI agents at once, an early bet on AI agents in crypto.

Much of that plan has since closed. TIP-52 let contributors shut Treasure Chain, the DAO's own network on ZKsync, in April 2025 to save about $450,000 a year in fixed costs. TIP-58 ended the Canopy and Bridgeworld games in August 2025. TIP-59 retired the Magicswap and marketplace front ends in October 2025, after Magicswap's locked value had fallen to near zero.

What survived is the agent business. Its main app is Summon, an app on Base where creators launch AI characters whose coins trade. TIP-61 says Summon collects a protocol fee on each of those trades. Treasure's docs give MAGIC a part in that business. They call it a "utility token used by agents to pay for compute and onchain services".

The DAO has one more bet outside its apps. In March 2026 TIP-62 put DAO money into Spellguard, an enterprise AI startup, for a 10% non-voting stake at a $20 million valuation.

MAGIC Tokenomics

Treasure's docs set MAGIC's total supply at about 347.7 million tokens, and its emissions follow a yearly version of Bitcoin's halving, with the reward rate cut every 1 September.

Most of that supply is already out. CoinMarketCap counts 337.3 million MAGIC in circulation, 97% of the total on Treasure's tokenomics page.

TIP-61, the "Autonomous Flywheel", passed in March 2026 and turns Treasure's agent apps into a buyer of MAGIC. Revenue from apps such as Summon pays the DAO's monthly costs first, and the rest buys MAGIC for a crypto burnthe month after it arrives.

The burn stops whenever the DAO's liquid runway in stablecoins or ETH falls below 18 months, so it depends on Treasure's cash position as much as on Summon's fees.

About 408,000 addresses hold MAGIC on Arbitrum, and the ten largest hold about 62% of the tokens on that chain. Those top addresses carry no public labels, so the share says little on its own about who controls them.

How to Buy MAGIC Safely

Phemex delisted its MAGIC markets, the perpetual first listed in December 2022 and the spot pair in January 2023, so MAGIC has no live perpetual there. These steps cover buying it with an on-chain swap from a self-custody wallet.

  1. Copy the contract from Treasure's contracts page, which lists MAGIC on Arbitrum One at 0x539bdE0d7Dbd336b79148AA742883198BBF60342, and match every character before you approve a swap.

  2. Know that Arbitrum MAGIC is the bridged form of the original Ethereum contract at 0xb0c7a3ba49c7a6eaba6cd4a96c55a1391070ac9a. About 317.5 million MAGIC sits locked in Arbitrum's bridge on Ethereum to back it.

  3. Treat the Base version as a third route into the same token. Treasure's homepage says its products are built on Base, and CoinGecko lists a bridged MAGIC there at 0xf1572d1da5c3cce14ee5a1c9327d17e9ff0e3f43 with about 3.9 million tokens. Treasure's contracts page doesn't list that address.

  4. Ignore any token called MAGIC or Treasure at an address not listed above, MagicLand included.

  5. Size the trade to the pool, since the deepest MAGIC pool held under $500,000 in early October 2026 and a large swap moves the price against you.

Futures on other assets use leverage, and a leveraged position is closed automatically if losses reach its margin.

What Are the Risks of Treasure (MAGIC)?

Earlier Spikes Faded Within a Month

MAGIC has a record of giving back sharp gains. CoinMarketCap's daily closes from September 2025 show five days before October 2026 when the token gained 13% or more. All five closed lower 30 days later, by 8% to 23%.

Contributors Can Sell About 26.9 Million MAGIC

TIP-55, passed in July 2025 and confirmed by a re-vote in August 2025, cancelled the ecosystem fund's linear unlock. The re-vote put about 26.9 million MAGIC into circulation at once. Contributors may sell those tokens through a market maker "at market-neutral rates", though the vote authorised no new mint.

A Small Group Sets Policy

TIP-61 passed 266,266 votes to none, cast by 23 addresses holding staked MAGIC. That voting weight equals under 0.1% of the circulating supply, so a handful of stakers set the burn policy.

Is MAGIC Crypto a Good Investment?

MAGIC is a bet that Treasure's agent apps earn enough fees to buy and burn the token in size. That burn policy and the Spellguard stake both date only from March 2026, so neither has a long record.

The early-October close left MAGIC about 31% above its last close of 2025 and 98% below its $6.32 all-time high of February 2022 on CoinMarketCap. The day before the spike it was about 29% below that 2025 close. One day of order-book buying flipped the year, with no change in what the token does.

A quarterly report showing MAGIC bought and burned with Summon's fees would change the picture. It would turn the Flywheel from a vote into a buyer you can measure.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is magic token?

MAGIC is the governance and utility token of Treasure DAO. It launched in 2021 as a free-mint token, and most of its supply sits on Arbitrum One. AI agents in Treasure's apps use it to pay for compute, and holders stake it to vote.

What is magic crypto?

Magic crypto usually means Treasure's MAGIC, the token behind a DAO that began with games on Arbitrum and turned to AI agents in 2025. MagicLand also uses the ticker, so check the contract address before you buy.

What is Treasure DAO?

Treasure DAO is the group of staked MAGIC holders that votes on Treasure's spending and products. Since April 2025 its votes have moved it from game publishing to AI agents, with Summon on Base as its main app.

Why did MAGIC go up?

MAGIC rose 84.99% on CoinMarketCap in a single early-October day on $251.3 million of volume. Most of that trading ran on centralized order books in lira, won and stablecoin pairs, and no Treasure vote or newsletter post explains it.

Can you trade MAGIC on Phemex?

No. Phemex delisted its MAGIC perpetual and spot pair. To hold MAGIC yourself, swap on-chain from a self-custody wallet, starting from the Arbitrum contract Treasure publishes in its docs.

Bottom Line

MAGIC's price and MAGIC's business ran on different clocks in early October 2026. The price nearly doubled in a day on centralized order books. The business is a burn that runs only when Summon earns fees and the DAO holds 18 months of cash. Until a report shows tokens bought and burned, traders are pricing the spike, and Treasure's own numbers have yet to move it.
