Top Gaming Tokens to Watch in 2026

Key Points

See what AXS, SUPER, GALA, NXPC and BIGTIME do, how far these top gaming tokens have fallen and if gaming crypto is dead.

The top crypto gaming tokens to watch in 2026 are Axie Infinity (AXS) and SuperVerse (SUPER), followed by GALA, Nexpace (NXPC) and Big Time (BIGTIME). We've listed them by market value, but they aren't the five largest gaming tokens overall. Each does a job in its game or network, from paying fees and crafting items to carrying a vote.

Nearly three in four sizeable gaming tokens had lost at least 90% from their peak by early November. Every token on this list closed early November at least 95% below its all-time high on CoinGecko. Bitcoin closed about 38% below its high on the same feed. That gap is the first thing to know before you buy into this sector.

Five Gaming Tokens to Watch

Axie Infinity (AXS)

Axie Infinity is a Pokemon-inspired NFT game that grew into a universe of pet-battle games. AXS carries a vote on how the project runs, and the whitepaper calls it "an ERC-20 governance token for the Axie Universe", tied to play and staking rewards.

The reason to watch it is what gets built around it. A 14 October 2026 post says "91 playable games came out of Vibeathon Round 1." That's Axie's own count, from a contest where fans built games with AI tools.

SuperVerse (SUPER)

SuperVerse began as SuperFarm, a cross-chain NFT platform. SUPER is one token plugged into other studios' web3 games and a DEX, a smart-contract trading venue. Its docs claim "200+ integrations" and describe the Blackhole DEX as built for "protocol-level buybacks". We'd watch it as a bet on other people's games keeping their players.

GALA (GALA)

GALA is the token of Gala's games and GalaChain, its own blockchain. Gala's help page says it buys NFTs and node licenses on the Gala Games store, and node operators earn it as their main reward. Those operators voted on a plan for GalaChain in April 2026, and Gala's post on the result says "YES has passed."

The approved plan brings a "disinflationary emission schedule starting at 15% with a 15% annual decay", so new tokens arrive more slowly each year. It also calls for "50% of all gas fees permanently burned". That means half the fees paid to the network would be destroyed for good. The post calls that work to follow, so check what's live before you count on it.

Nexpace (NXPC)

CoinGecko calls this token Nexpace, and the project calls itself MapleStory Universe. NXPC pays network fees on Henesys, its home chain. The project's docs describe a business built on "a 22-year-old MMORPG" with "a revenue-linked quarterly burn that removes 20% of platform revenue". We'd watch the old game, since a new title has to go and find players and this one can bring them.

Big Time (BIGTIME)

Big Time is a free-to-play multiplayer RPG. Its token page says "$BIGTIME randomly drops in-game by playing with at least one charged Hourglass equipped." You spend it to craft and upgrade at the Forge and Armory. It's the plainest test here of a token players earn and spend in one game.

What Are Gaming Tokens?

In crypto, gaming tokens are the in-game currencies or governance tokens of blockchain games. Outside crypto, the same words mean arcade or casino tokens, and some crypto casinos borrow the label too. So check what a token pays for before you read anything else about it.

Gaming crypto coins come in two broad shapes. Some are money you spend inside one game, like BIGTIME at Big Time's Forge. Others carry a vote on how the project runs, like AXS.

They all belong to the wider idea of GameFi, short for game finance, where what you win in a game can have a price outside it.

How Did We Choose These Gaming Tokens?

We started with CoinGecko's gaming category and took every token valued at least as highly as Big Time, the smallest of the five. That gave us 41. By our reading of each project's own pages, 36 of them dropped out.

  • 18 whose own site names, shows or links an exchange (we don't send readers to other trading venues)

  • 9 that aren't games by their own description

  • 4 memecoins, brands or an exchange's own token

  • 3 that are casino tokens on their own pages

  • 2 whose sites couldn't be read

So these five aren't the five largest gaming tokens. A token can miss the list on its website alone, and a fuller read of every site could drop more.

Is Gaming Crypto Dead?

The prices look dead, and some of the games don't.

Of the 57 gaming tokens worth $10 million or more on CoinGecko, 42 closed early November at least 90% below their all-time highs. The median token sat about 98% under its peak, and Ether closed about 54% below its own high on the same feed. That count uses CoinGecko's gaming category, one tracker's label that also holds casinos, miners and memecoins.

Three of our five set their highs in 2021. Newer launches didn't escape it, since Nexpace set its high in May 2025 and still closed more than 95% below it. AXS would have to multiply about 190 times to get back to its November 2021 peak, which is a long way for a token that needs players to want it.

The games are more mixed. Axie's Terrariums ran its first limited-time event from late October, and its makers said in mid-October that the next Atia's Legacy playtest would target people new to Axie. Big Time is less clear. Its wiki's news stops in November 2023 and its Medium feed in October 2025, yet its leaderboards page showed a rewards board running from September 2026. None of that counts players.

What to watch: Axie's Vibeathon showcase, set for 12 November 2026, where the winner gets a path into the Axie ecosystem.

So we'd stop asking about the sector and ask two things about each token. Is its game still shipping, and do players need the token to play it?

How Does Crypto Gaming Work?

Crypto gaming puts some of a game's items and money on a blockchain, so you hold them in a wallet and can sell them outside the game. Think of the token as arcade credits you can resell in the parking lot, at whatever the crowd will pay that day.

Big Time shows the loop clearly. Players with a charged Hourglass get BIGTIME drops, and crafters spend the token to make cosmetics that other players buy. You don't need any of that to start, because its wiki says the game requires no collectibles to play. The drops begin once you equip an Hourglass, a limited-supply item.

MapleStory Universe splits the job in two, with NESO as the in-game currency and NXPC as the token you can swap it for. Smaller projects run on the same idea, and Nakamoto Games (NAKA) charges its buy-ins for skill-game rooms in its own token.

The chain underneath costs money too. Each on-chain action pays a gas fee, a small charge to the network, and on Henesys you pay it in NXPC. Under the plan Gala's node operators approved, half of GalaChain's gas fees go to the node operators who run the network.

The loop holds up while players keep spending what they earn. When more tokens come out than players want, the price is what gives.

What Are the Risks of Gaming Tokens?

GalaChain has already been exploited. Gala's own post-mortem says an attack on 18 August 2026 made "unauthorized transfers across nine GalaChain wallets", and about 2 billion GALA left them along with roughly 37 other tokens. The flaw had got past third-party audits. The team shipped a fix the same morning, and the post said in September that its investigation was still open.

Supply comes next, because tokens outside circulation can still reach the market. CoinGecko showed about 31% of Nexpace's 1 billion maximum in circulation in early November, against about 58% for BIGTIME and 65% each for AXS and SUPER.

On those numbers, NXPC has the most room to dilute you. GALA is the odd one, with about 51 billion tokens in supply against a listed 50 billion maximum on CoinGecko.

Some of the best lines on these tokens are the projects' own. SUPER's buybacks and NXPC's burn are descriptions from their docs, so treat them as claims until you've seen them on a block explorer, a chain's public record of transactions. Docs age badly too, and the AXS whitepaper page still says the community treasury "will go live" in early 2021.

Player count is the last one. Big Time's wiki ties spending on BIGTIME to the size of its player base, and that logic runs in reverse if players leave.

Which Gaming Tokens Are on Phemex?

Phemex's perpetual and spot pairs for AXS and SUPER closed under notices from August and September 2026, and so did those for NXPC and BIGTIME. Its GALA perpetual closed under a notice of 7 August 2026, and its GALA spot pair is on a notice of 9 October 2026.

Phemex's crypto futures cover other coins, and the link below opens that market. Futures use leverage, and a leveraged position is closed automatically if losses reach its margin.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gaming crypto?

No single token wins that question, because it depends on what you measure. On this list AXS had the largest market value in early November at about $151 million and BIGTIME the smallest at about $20 million. That ranking by size is the only one we'd stand behind.

Is gaming crypto a good investment?

It's been a poor one for anyone who bought near the highs, since most sizeable gaming tokens sat 90% or more under their peaks in early November. A big fall doesn't make a token cheap. We don't give investment advice, and you can lose everything on tokens this small.

What is web3 gaming crypto?

It's the crypto side of games built on blockchains, where items, in-game money or voting rights sit in your own wallet. You can usually sell them outside the game. A token's price moves separately from how fun its game is.

Bottom Line

A gaming token and its game are two separate bets. Axie's community built 91 games by its own count and AXS still closed 99.5% under its high, so a busy community doesn't pay the token holder on its own. Before you buy one, find the thing in the game that forces a player to need the token, then look at how much supply is still waiting to be sold.
