Data center coolant monitoring startup Omen AI has acquired competitor Aquatic Labs in a deal valued at $16 million, comprising cash and stock. The acquisition aims to integrate Omen's water element detection technology with Aquatic Labs' water alkalinity sensing capabilities into a unified sensor, targeted for market release in early 2027.
Aquatic Labs CEO Allan Adams will join Omen as chief scientific officer following the merger. Omen founder Zach Laberge stated that the company's first-generation sensors are projected to monitor chips with a combined power draw of 250 to 300 megawatts by the end of 2026, with plans to scale coverage to the equivalent of 1 gigawatt of chip capacity by the end of 2027.
