Visa has announced the global expansion of its Intelligent Commerce platform, enabling AI agents to shop, compare, and complete purchases for consumers and businesses. This follows Visa's Business-to-AI (B2AI) Report, which revealed that 53% of U.S. business leaders are open to AI agents negotiating on their behalf. The platform includes APIs for secure transactions, with pilot programs already active in Asia-Pacific and Europe. Visa's expansion comes amid a competitive landscape for AI payment infrastructure, with crypto-native protocols like Coinbase's x402 and Stripe's Machine Payments Protocol vying for dominance. Visa is also advancing its crypto initiatives, including a CLI tool for AI payments and a stablecoin collaboration with Bridge, aiming to integrate AI agents into the payment ecosystem.
