Ethereum and Base failed to reach agreement on a shared standard for making account abstraction native to the base layer. Ethlabs' Derek Chiang said efforts to reconcile Ethereum's EIP-8141 with Base's EIP-8130 broke down last week.
The projects will now ship separate standards, requiring wallets to support both implementations.
