A hacker has been sentenced to four years and four months in prison for exploiting security vulnerabilities in 157 government and enterprise websites to redirect traffic to pornographic sites. The defendant, Zhou, was found guilty by a court in Quzhou City, Zhejiang Province, after illegally controlling over 150 servers from August 2023 to June 2025. Zhou used these servers to profit by reselling access, with all transactions settled in cryptocurrencies like USDT and TRX. Authorities seized over 42 million RMB in cryptocurrency from Zhou, who voluntarily returned 28 million RMB of illicit gains. The investigation, led by the Qujiang District Procuratorate, continues to pursue other individuals involved in the scheme. Key evidence, including mnemonic phrases and login credentials for encrypted wallets, was crucial in the case.
