The protocol continues to advance its privacy infrastructure through selective disclosure features using viewing keys and network upgrades like Ironwood, released in July 2026 to replace cryptographic components and fix security issues. Unlike transparent blockchains, Zcash's privacy model strengthens with increased usage as each new shielded transaction expands the anonymity set, making individual activity harder to isolate within the shared pool.
