North Korea-linked group SquidSquad allegedly stole approximately $2.84 million from an unidentified institution on BNB Smart Chain (BSC) on October 8, according to on-chain detective ZachXBT.
On October 20, the attacker deposited 1,111.2 ETH into Tornado Cash, then withdrew funds to three addresses and bridged assets from Ethereum to Tron via USDT0, consolidating them into two addresses financially linked to previously attributed North Korean wallets. The funds subsequently flowed through intermediary addresses to Chinese over-the-counter traders within minutes, a move ZachXBT believes was designed to circumvent a potential Tether freeze.
