UniCredit is considering expanding its digital asset services by developing custody and brokerage capabilities, with the bank currently selecting technology vendors to build infrastructure for holding, buying and selling digital assets. The discussions remain at an early stage.

UniCredit has previously offered professional clients structured products linked to BlackRock’s IBIT, issued Italy’s first tokenized mini-bond on a public blockchain, participated in establishing euro-denominated stablecoin issuer Qivalis, and acquired a minority stake in German lending marketplace VC Trade this week.
