Thailand’s Securities and Exchange Commission has proposed stablecoin rules that would require licensed crypto platforms to allow customers to deposit or withdraw stablecoins only through their own verified accounts or wallets. Transfers to wallets belonging to other people would be prohibited under the draft.
The proposal would also impose a daily limit of 5 million Thai baht, or approximately $150,000, per person per platform for both deposits and withdrawals. The rules remain under public consultation, with comments accepted until September 25, and have not yet taken effect.
