Tether has blacklisted nine addresses linked to a security incident at Indian crypto exchange CoinDCX, freezing 2.21 million USDT in total. The action follows monitoring by blockchain investigator Salus and on-chain evidence provided by investigator Darcy, who first flagged an anomalous transfer of approximately 15.99 million USDT.
CoinDCX co-founder Sumit Gupta initially denied any breach. Salus challenged that claim by pointing to suspicious transfers from "proof-of-reserves" addresses and unusual TRX distribution patterns, prompting responses from the involved parties and ultimately enabling Tether to take enforcement action against the identified addresses.
