Telegram CEO Pavel Durov has introduced Acton, a new development toolchain for The Open Network (TON), claiming it accelerates smart contract creation by tenfold. Acton consolidates the previously fragmented development process into a single command-line tool, streamlining writing, testing, deployment, and on-chain verification. Built around Tolk, TON's latest smart contract language, Acton is designed to be AI-ready, supporting tools like Codex and Claude. The launch of Acton coincides with Telegram's strategic move to control TON's validator set, staking 2.2 million tokens to secure the largest validator slot. This is part of Durov's "Make TON Great Again" initiative, which has already reduced transaction fees and enhanced network speed. Despite concerns about centralization, Toncoin saw a significant rally following these developments. Acton's success among developers will be crucial in determining TON's competitive edge against platforms like Solana and Ethereum.
