STEPN (GMT) closed 8.36% above its 200-day average in early October 2026, its widest margin since January 2025, after 625 straight daily closes below that line. Our STEPN price prediction puts the 2026 base case at $0.0088-$0.0133 and the 2030 base case at $0.0219-$0.0673, with $0.006 and $0.07 as the outer bounds.
GMT's 21.02% jump on the rally day came on 3.5 times the previous day's volume, and other game tokens surged on the same daily bar. Older metaverse tokens such as The Sandbox and Decentraland stayed out of it, and STEPN's developer lists no update newer than its September recap. A sector bid with no project news has to hold the 200-day to count.

What Is STEPN?
STEPN is a move-to-earn app from Find Satoshi Lab, and its users wear NFT sneakers to earn tokens for walking or running outdoors. GMT is the app's governance token, with a hard cap of 6 billion. CoinGecko's project description says players burn GMT inside the app to mint sneakers and upgrade gems.
Phemex's 2022 explainer on what STEPN (GMT) is as a Web3 lifestyle app covers how the sneakers and the earning loop work.
STEPN heads the list in Phemex's roundup of move-to-earn apps where you earn crypto for exercising, and Find Satoshi Lab marked the app's fifth anniversary in September 2026.
The everyday reward token in the app is GST, a separate coin, and STEPN GO is a newer app from the same team. GoMining's token also shows up as GMT on some data sites, so check the project name before you read a GMT chart.
Where Is the GMT Price After the Early-October Rally?
GMT ended its early-October rally day at $0.009488 on CoinMarketCap's daily closes, up 21.02% from $0.007840 the day before. CoinGecko's close for the same day was $0.009490, a gap of 0.02%.
It was GMT's highest close since 3 June 2026, when it finished at $0.01001. The bar touched $0.009660 intraday and closed 1.78% below that high, so buyers held most of the move into the close.
Volume came to $35.82 million against $10.22 million the day before, and it ran 4.9 times the $7.34 million daily average of the 30 days before the rally. Bitcoin gained 1.07% on the same bar.
GST, STEPN's own reward token, moved with the laggards that day. When the app's second token doesn't follow, the bid looks aimed at a basket of game tickers more than at STEPN itself.
For 2026 as a whole, GMT is still down 37.28% from its 31 December 2025 close of $0.01513.
Will GMT Coin Rise Again?
GMT has started rising again on the trend line most traders watch, with five closes above its 200-day average since late September. Before that it closed below the line 625 days in a row, from 8 January 2025 to 24 September 2026.
Two of those closes came in late September and three in early October. The last was the rally close, which cleared the average of $0.008755 by more than any close since 6 January 2025. GMT has been here before. Its last stint above the line lasted 13 closes, from 26 December 2024 to 7 January 2025. The long run below began the next day.
So the answer turns on one level. A close back under $0.008755 would make this another false start, and a run of closes above it would give GMT its first lasting uptrend since the start of 2025.
Method: the 200-day is a simple average of CoinMarketCap's 1,676 daily closes from March 2022, re-derived for every day in the series.
What Does GMT's Price History Show?
GMT's record close came in its listing year, at $3.834 on 29 April 2022, a day after its intraday record of $4.114 on 28 April. The early-October close is 99.75% below that record close.

Every yearly high since 2022 has closed below the one before it. Inside that slide, the May 2025 rally closed at $0.06726 on 13 May 2025 and touched $0.07085 intraday the next day.
The October 2025 high of $0.03113 came on 13 October 2025 and is still the best close of the past 365 days. Then came the January 2026 high of $0.02194 and the May 2026 high of $0.01329 on 11 May 2026.
The lowest close in the whole series came on 18 August 2026 at $0.005930, and the early-October close is 60% above it. Every range in this STEPN (GMT) price prediction is built from those printed levels and the 200-day average.
GMT Technical Analysis
Every reading below comes from the same CoinMarketCap closes, with Wilder's 14-day RSI and the standard 12-26-9 MACD beside the two averages.
Support
The first floor is the 200-day average at $0.008755. Below it, the 50-day average of $0.007828 and the pre-rally close of $0.007840 form a single band, and under that waits the record low close of $0.005930 from August 2026.
Resistance
The first ceiling is the June 2026 close of $0.01001, 5.50% above the rally close. Past it, the May 2026 high of $0.01329 needs a 40.11% climb, and the January 2026 high of $0.02194 would take a 131.2% rise.
The 50-Day and 200-Day Averages
The 50-day average runs 10.59% below the 200-day, and the death cross of 29 January 2025 still stands more than 20 months on. A golden cross and death cross mark the moments the two averages swap places, and GMT's price has crossed the 200-day well before its 50-day has.
RSI and MACD
The 14-day RSI closed the rally day at 62.75, under the 70 line traders read as overbought, so the jump didn't stretch the gauge. MACD stood at 0.0002798, still below its signal line at 0.0003163, which means momentum hadn't confirmed the move by the close. Our guide on how to trade with the RSI indicator explains the 70 and 30 lines.

A close above the May 2026 high
|
The bear range runs from the record low close of August 2026 to the 200-day average. The base runs from the 200-day to the May 2026 high, and the bull from there to the January 2026 high.
Our GMT price prediction for 2026 leans to the base case. The rally has no STEPN cause and the MACD hasn't turned, but the close holds above the 200-day, and that average is the base case's floor.
GMT Price Prediction 2027
For 2027 the base case runs from the May 2026 high of $0.0133 to the January 2026 high of $0.0219, which asks GMT to win back both rebound highs of its 2026 slide.
The bear case keeps the $0.0059-$0.0088 band of 2026, and the bull runs from $0.0219 to the October 2025 high of $0.0311.
GMT Price Prediction 2028
The 2028 base case, $0.0095 to $0.0311, starts at the early-October close and ends at the October 2025 high. Holding it means GMT keeps its rally gains and then adds to them. The bear case runs from $0.0059 to the early-October close, and the bull from $0.0311 to the May 2025 high of $0.0673.
GMT Price Prediction 2030
Our STEPN price prediction for 2030 puts the base case at $0.0219-$0.0673, from the January 2026 high to the May 2025 high, and the same bands cover 2029. The bear case spans $0.0059 to $0.0133, and the bull runs from $0.0673 to $0.0708, the intraday high of that May 2025 rally.
No range on this page goes above $0.0708. With the record set in the listing year and no higher yearly high since, the series holds no cycle-to-cycle multiple to project with.

What About 2035 and 2040?
These are growth rates, never forecasts. A return to the May 2025 high of $0.0673, 7.09 times the early-October close, needs 23.65% a year to 31 December 2035 or 14.76% a year to 31 December 2040.
A round $0.10 is 10.54 times the close and needs 29.08% a year to the end of 2035, or 18.0% a year to the end of 2040.
Can GMT Reach $10?
GMT can't reach $10 on any level its own history supports. The target is 1,054 times the early-October close and 2.43 times the intraday record of $4.114 from April 2022.
Getting there would take 112.6% growth a year to the end of 2035, or 63.10% a year to the end of 2040. At $10, CoinGecko's total supply of 5.07 billion GMT would carry a value of about $50.7 billion.
What Could Drive GMT Higher or Lower?
-
Find Satoshi Lab has set STEPNathon 3 for 26 October to 2 November 2026, an event in which Season Pass holders complete 21 km or 42 km in one session on STEPN or STEPN GO. It's a dated test of app activity, and the September recap that confirmed it changes nothing about GMT's supply.
-
About 1.96 billion GMT, 38.68% of CoinGecko's total supply, sits outside the circulating count of 3.11 billion. Its release timing is unverified. Both trackers show the same circulating figure and CoinMarketCap's hasn't changed since September 2025, so the overhang could be larger or smaller than they show.
-
Sneaker minting and gem upgrades burn GMT, so busier players mean more tokens leaving supply. Our explainer on what it means to burn crypto covers how a burn removes tokens for good.
What Are the Risks of Investing in GMT?
-
No STEPN catalyst stands behind the move, so a reversal across game tokens leaves GMT with nothing of its own to defend the 200-day at $0.008755.
-
Liquidity outside spikes is thin. In the 30 days before the rally GMT traded about $7.34 million a day, so a large order can move it hard in both directions.
-
The ticker is shared and the token is spread across chains. CoinGecko lists GMT contracts on four networks, and a wrong contract or GoMining's token is an easy mistake to make in a fast market.
Is GMT a Good Investment?
On the record to early October 2026, GMT is a trading position more than an investment case, and the weak point is the link between the app and the token.
Find Satoshi Lab's September recap says an anniversary campaign hit its target of 50,000 active users and missed its 5 billion-step goal. Fifty thousand active users is a modest base for a token with 3.11 billion in circulation, and the only GMT figure in the recap is a 5 GMT entry fee for a limited Polygon capsule in late September.
We'd want closes that hold the 200-day through STEPNathon 3 before treating GMT as more than a trade.
How to Trade STEPN
Phemex delisted all three of its GMT markets, two perpetuals and a spot pair, so GMT has no live perpetual here. The GMT/USDT perpetual printed its last daily bar in August 2026.
Phemex's guide to what happens when a coin is delisted walks through the steps, from the futures contract going first to the spot pair.
-
Confirm the token is STEPN's GMT, and not GoMining's token or GST, before you open any chart or order screen.
-
Check the network of any GMT market, because CoinGecko lists four and each copy needs wallet support on its own chain.
-
Set your levels from the 2026 scenario table, with the 200-day average as the line between the bear and base cases.
-
Use the futures button below to open Phemex's crypto futures markets, which start on Bitcoin, and note that none of them tracks GMT.
Futures use leverage, and a leveraged position is closed automatically if losses reach its margin.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the GMT price prediction for 2026?
Our 2026 base case for GMT is $0.0088 to $0.0133, from the 200-day average to the May 2026 high. The bear case covers $0.0059 to $0.0088, and the bull case reaches from $0.0133 to $0.0219, the January 2026 high.
What is the STEPN price prediction for 2030?
Our 2030 base case is $0.0219 to $0.0673, a band that starts at the January 2026 high and tops out at the May 2025 high. The bear case covers $0.0059 to $0.0133, and the bull case $0.0673 to $0.0708.
Is GMT crypto a good investment?
GMT trades as a momentum token more than an investment. It closed early October 2026 99.75% below its April 2022 record close, and its 21.02% rally day arrived without a STEPN announcement.
Can GMT reach $10?
Not on any level in GMT's own record, since a $10 GMT is 1,054 times the early-October 2026 close. It would need about 112.6% growth a year through 2035.
Is GMT bullish or bearish?
The signals split on the early-October 2026 close. GMT closed above its 200-day average, a bullish sign, but the 50-day still runs 10.59% under the 200-day and the January 2025 death cross stands.
Bottom Line
GMT's October rally belongs to a basket of game tokens more than to STEPN, and baskets tend to unwind together. After more than 20 months under its 200-day, the closes around $0.008755 through November decide which story the chart tells.
A hold through STEPNathon 3 would be the first sign since early 2025 that buyers want GMT for its own sake. A slip back under that average puts the bear range back in play.
