EigenLayer (EIGEN), which CoinGecko lists as EigenCloud, closed mid-October 2026 at $0.2516 with 28.79 million minted tokens held back and no burn on chain since early July. From that close, our EigenLayer price prediction puts the base case at $0.20-$0.29 for 2026 and $0.25-$1.98 by 2030.
EIGEN's contract has minted 2.357 million tokens every week since October 2025, and since late July only 14.28% of each mint goes out as payouts. The project's Incentives Committee has promised to burn the excess. EIGEN's on-chain supply shows 16 burns totalling 24.25 million through early July and none after, and the total supply grew 5.60% in the year to the mid-October close.

What Is EigenLayer?
EigenLayer is an Ethereum protocol for restaking in DeFi, where staked ETH and EIGEN secure other services, and in June 2025 Eigen Labs launched EigenCloud on top of it with products such as EigenDA and EigenCompute. EIGEN is the staking and rewards token for both, and price trackers list it under the EigenCloud name.
EigenLayer Price History
EIGEN set its record close of $5.493 in mid-December 2024, during its launch season, and CoinMarketCap's intraday high that month reached $5.652.
The biggest rally since then ran from an April 2025 low of $0.6909 to a $1.973 close in early October 2025, a 185.6% climb. CoinMarketCap's intraday high for that run, about $2.13, printed the day before the top close. Three days after that peak EIGEN lost 33.31% in a single day, its worst one-day move in 746 daily closes on CoinMarketCap.
EIGEN ended 2025 at $0.3475 and bounced to a January 2026 high close of $0.4535. It then fell to $0.1511 in early April 2026, its lowest close on record, with an intraday low of $0.1484 on CoinMarketCap that week. Phemex's spot market printed its own lowest close, $0.1508, in mid-April.
From that April low EIGEN climbed 88.22% to a $0.2845 close in late June 2026. A mid-August pullback to $0.1664 held above the April low, so the advance that began in April is still the one in force. EIGEN closed mid-October at $0.2516, 30.83% above its mid-September close of $0.1923 and 27.61% below where it ended 2025.
Is EigenLayer a Good Investment?
EigenLayer's case as an investment turns on supply, since every holder faces a weekly mint, a monthly unlock and a promised burn that stopped reaching the chain in early July.
ELIP-011, which the Protocol Council approved in October 2025, sets EIGEN's emissions at 7% a year of a 1.751 billion basis. That works out to 2.357 million EIGEN minted every week, and the mid-October mint matched the figure to the token.
Since late July the minting contract has paid out only about 336,600 EIGEN of each weekly mint and kept the other 2.020 million, or 85.72%. In mid-March 2026 the Incentives Committee wrote that excess tokens "will be burned by the Incentive Committee and removed from circulation entirely" in its first update to the community.
The committee repeated the promise in early July, when it ended EIGEN emissions to ETH stakers from 30 July 2026 and said it "will burn the emissions previously programmed for the ETH quorum subsidy".
Burns did happen for a while, each one removing tokens from supply for good, the mechanism behind what it means to burn crypto. EIGEN's on-chain supply records 16 burns of 1.516 million tokens, 24.25 million in all.
One came in March, three in April and twelve in early July 2026, each the size of one week's unpaid share before the ETH payouts stopped. The twelve July burns landed in a single block, right after the minting contract moved 13 weeks of excess to a multisig Safe. No burn appears after early July.
By the mid-October close the minting contract held 27.28 million EIGEN and that Safe held the 13th week's 1.516 million, all of it minted, counted in CoinMarketCap's circulating supply and not burned.
Two paths follow from that build-up. If the committee burns the held tokens and every future excess, net issuance falls to about 17.50 million EIGEN a year, 0.94% of the mid-October total supply. If it burns nothing more, issuance runs at 122.6 million a year, or 6.61% of that total. On that second path supply reaches about 2.370 billion by the end of 2030, 27.84% above the mid-October total.
A round-number test shows the weight of that supply. At $2 a token, or 7.95 times the mid-October close, the circulating count would carry a $1.947 billion market value. That's 1.68 times the $1.158 billion CoinMarketCap recorded on the day of the December 2024 record close.
Method: supply figures come from EIGEN's Ethereum contract at the last block before the mid-October close and on the first day of each month, with every transfer in and out of the minting contract traced week by week since late April 2026. The emission rules come from ELIP-011 and the committee's forum posts.
Check: the year closes exactly, since 52 weekly mints less the 16 burns equal the 98.31 million EIGEN the total grew in the year to mid-October, and CoinMarketCap's total supply matches the chain's.
EigenLayer Technical Analysis
EIGEN's mid-October close stood 21.73% above its 200-day average of $0.2067, and its 50-day average of $0.2286 ran 10.63% above the 200-day. The 50-day has stayed above the longer line since late September, the bullish side of a golden cross and death cross reading on both CoinMarketCap and Phemex spot prices.
The 14-day RSI indicator stood at 53.94 on the mid-October bar, a neutral reading between the oversold line at 30 and the overbought line at 70.
Momentum tells a cooler story. The MACD indicator has run under its signal line since early October, even as the price recovered from its early-October dip.
Below the price, a $0.2200 close from early October is the first floor and the 200-day at $0.2067 is the next. Above it, a $0.2696 close from mid-October comes first, then the late-September high close of $0.2764 and the June 2026 high of $0.2845.
EIGEN also outran its restaking and staking peers over the month. The table sets its 30-day move on Phemex's spot prices beside seven other tokens, each measured from its own mid-September close.
Token | 30-day move |
EIGEN | +31.55% |
ETHFI | +16.72% |
LDO | +15.45% |
JTO | +11.58% |
LISTA | +10.73% |
BTC | +7.10% |
ETH | +0.21% |
PENDLE | -9.67% |
EIGEN's gain ran almost twice that of ETHFI, the next best of the seven, while ETH itself barely moved.
EigenLayer Price Prediction 2026
EIGEN's 2026 ranges run between levels it has already closed at, with the 200-day as the line between the bear and base cases.
Scenario | Range | What has to happen |
Bear | $0.1511-$0.2067 | Closes lose the 200-day and slide toward the April low |
Base | $0.2066-$0.2845 | EIGEN holds the 200-day and retests the June high |
Bull | $0.2844-$1.198 | Closes clear the June high and keep climbing |
The bull top is EIGEN's highest close in the 12 months to mid-October 2026, $1.198 in late October 2025. It marks how far the range reaches and carries no expectation for the weeks left in 2026.
We weight the base case. The mint keeps adding supply while the burn stays stalled, so a close above the June high of $0.2845 would be the first sign of buyers absorbing it. EIGEN hasn't closed under its 200-day since mid-September. A close below $0.2067 would put the bear range in play. Until one of those lines breaks, the base range holds.
EigenLayer Price Prediction 2027
For 2027, our EIGEN coin price prediction sets the base case at $0.2515-$1.198, from the mid-October close to the highest close in the year to mid-October 2026. The 2027 calendar holds the last nine monthly unlock tranches, with the schedule ending in September 2027.
A slide back to the April 2026 low gives the 2027 bear range of $0.1511-$0.2516. A bull year would run $1.197-$2.134, through the October 2025 high of $1.973 to that run's intraday high on CoinMarketCap.
EigenLayer Price Prediction 2028
This EigenLayer crypto price prediction widens the 2028 base case to $0.2066-$1.974, from the 200-day average to the October 2025 high close.
By 2028 the investor and contributor unlocks have ended, and the weekly mint keeps running under ELIP-011, which carries no end date. Bear closes would fall between $0.1511 and $0.2067, the April low and the 200-day, and a bull year would span $1.973-$2.134.
EigenLayer Price Prediction 2030
The 2030 base case runs from $0.2515 to $1.974, the mid-October close to the October 2025 high, and 2029 carries the same three ranges. Around it lie a bear range of $0.1511-$0.2516 and a bull range of $1.973-$2.134, which stops at the intraday high of EIGEN's 2025 run.
No range on this page uses the $5.493 record close. EIGEN printed it in its first three months of trading at 21.83 times the mid-October close, and we build no range on launch-season price discovery.
Year | Base case | Full range |
2026 | $0.2066-$0.2845 | $0.1511-$1.198 |
2027 | $0.2515-$1.198 | $0.1511-$2.134 |
2028 | $0.2066-$1.974 | $0.1511-$2.134 |
2029 | $0.2515-$1.974 | $0.1511-$2.134 |
2030 | $0.2515-$1.974 | $0.1511-$2.134 |
What About 2035 and 2040?
The rates below give the yearly growth EIGEN would need from the mid-October close to 1 January 2036 or 1 January 2041, and none of them is a forecast.
Target | Times the close | Yearly growth to 2035 / 2040 |
$1 | 3.975 | 16.17% / 10.20% |
October 2025 high, $1.973 | 7.843 | 25.07% / 15.60% |
$2 | 7.950 | 25.25% / 15.71% |
Record close, $5.493 | 21.83 | 39.78% / 24.23% |
$10 | 39.75 | 49.18% / 29.58% |
Those rates ignore supply, and EIGEN's mint has no end date, so this page gives no EIGEN price prediction for 2040 or 2035 beyond the arithmetic above.
How to Get Exposure to EigenLayer
Phemex delisted its EIGEN perpetual in August 2026. Its EIGEN/USDT spot pair is on an October 2026 delisting notice, which ended margin trading on the pair in mid-October and says the spot pair will be delisted on a date Phemex has not yet announced.
Confirm the token before you buy anywhere. Eigenpie (EGP) and EIGENCODE (CODE) share part of the name, and bEIGEN is the backing token behind EIGEN with the same supply.
Mark the monthly unlock on your calendar before you size a position, since investor and contributor tranches keep landing until September 2027.
Watch EIGEN's total supply, because a fall in it would be the first on-chain sign that the promised burns have resumed.
For exposure to the wider crypto market, Phemex runs futures on Bitcoin and other major coins. Futures use leverage, and a leveraged position is closed automatically if losses reach its margin.
Risks of Holding EigenLayer
The unlock calendar. Investors and early contributors received 55% of the 1.674 billion EIGEN at launch, per the Foundation's April 2024 announcement, and Eigen Labs' lockup disclosure releases 4% of each holder's tokens every month until September 2027. Twelve tranches of about 36.82 million EIGEN remain, 441.8 million in all, or 45.38% of the mid-October circulating count. Crypto vesting and cliffs explains how such schedules release supply.
A burn that depends on a committee. The excess leaves supply only when the Incentives Committee burns it. The committee's first update, posted in March 2026, says Eigen Labs personnel manage it. Until it moves the 28.79 million held tokens out of supply, every week adds another 2.020 million to the pile.
Rewards that change on short notice. The committee cut payouts to ETH stakers by 50% and to EIGEN stakers by 75% from March 2026, then ended the ETH payouts altogether in late July. Staking yields that move this fast make EIGEN's demand from stakers harder to judge.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is EigenLayer dead?
EigenLayer still runs, and EIGEN's contract still mints about 2.36 million tokens a week while trackers list the token as EigenCloud. EIGEN closed mid-October 2026 at $0.2516, 95.42% under its December 2024 record close but 30.83% above its mid-September 2026 close.
What does EigenCloud do?
EigenCloud is the developer platform Eigen Labs launched in June 2025 on top of EigenLayer, the restaking protocol. It bundles services such as EigenDA for data and EigenCompute for running applications, and EIGEN is the token stakers use to secure them.
What is the EigenLayer price prediction for 2030?
The 2030 base case in this forecast is $0.2515-$1.974, from the mid-October 2026 close to the October 2025 high close. The full range spans $0.1511-$2.134, with the top set by the intraday high of EIGEN's 2025 run on CoinMarketCap.
What is EigenLayer crypto?
EigenLayer crypto usually means EIGEN, the token that pays restaking rewards on the EigenLayer protocol and that stakers lock up to secure EigenCloud's services. Its total supply stood at about 1.854 billion EIGEN at the mid-October 2026 close, with 973.7 million counted as circulating.
Bottom Line
EIGEN's chart has turned up, but its supply hinges on a burn that hasn't reached the chain since early July. Until the held tokens leave supply, the arithmetic says 6.61% a year of new EIGEN, against 0.94% if the committee keeps its promise. The first fall in total supply since July is the signal to watch, and a close under $0.2067 would break the chart's case.
