The company stated that uploaded data was immediately destroyed after cloud processing and never stored, and the problematic setting has since been disabled. To restore trust, Zhipu committed to open-sourcing the ZCode codebase and inviting third-party evaluators to audit system operations with ongoing public disclosures. As compensation for the incident, all users will receive an additional weekly quota reset effective immediately.
