Hong Kong's securities industry net profit rose 21% to HK$51.7 billion in the first half of 2026, according to the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) Financial Review. Total net commission and interest income across securities, futures, options, leveraged forex, and virtual asset trading increased 13% to HK$45.4 billion from HK$40.1 billion in the second half of 2025. Virtual asset trading commission income declined 13.5% quarter-on-quarter to HK$99.3 million in H1 2026, down HK$15.5 million from HK$114.8 million in the prior period. The drop contrasts with broader industry growth as traditional securities and derivatives segments drove overall revenue expansion.
