Tsinghua University's School of Economics and Management has introduced a new undergraduate elective course in "Financial Technology". This course is available to all full-time undergraduates at the university, except those majoring in "Economics and Finance". The curriculum includes subjects such as "Principles of Economics", "Corporate Finance", "Investment", "Financial Technology", "Blockchain Technology in Financial Applications", "Machine Learning in Finance", and "Financial Derivatives". This year, a new course on "Digital Currency and Digital Assets" has been added.
The "Financial Technology" course covers topics like blockchain, digital cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum, as well as investments in mutual and hedge funds. Meanwhile, the "Blockchain Technology in Financial Applications" course focuses on the practical use of decentralized databases in areas like cross-border payments, over-the-counter derivatives trading, supply chain finance, DeFi, and NFTs.
