The Finance Committee of the French National Assembly has approved three cryptocurrency amendments as part of the 2027 budget bill review, including a tax on stablecoin exchange transactions, an exit tax on crypto assets, and a provision allowing a 10-year carryforward for crypto asset losses. The committee rejected a proposal to extend the personal wealth tax to digital assets during deliberations that began on October 7.
Measures regarding self-custody wallet declarations and platform penalties remain under active review as the committee evaluates the remaining seven amendments. None of the proposed measures have been enacted into law and all require further parliamentary deliberation before potential implementation.
