CZ has endorsed BNB Chain's new Layer 1 plan, emphasizing a "multiple chains, one token" architecture. According to official documentation, the upcoming L1 will coexist with Binance Smart Chain (BSC) and connect via a native cross-chain bridge. The new chain will not issue an independent token; instead, it will continue using BNB as the core asset for gas fees, staking, and governance.
The BNB Chain team plans to launch a testnet by the end of 2026, with mainnet deployment targeted for early 2027.
