Blockstream Mining, which Back co-founded and holds a minority stake in, is entangled in lawsuits with partner Exacore following its spinoff from Blockstream. The disputes involve alleged unpaid equipment payments, electricity fees, and customer deposits tied to approximately $2 billion in related financing.
Additionally, Blockstream's Liquid Network sidechain suffered a security breach resulting in the theft of roughly 4,000 BTC. While 3,400 BTC have been recovered, the attacker still controls Bitcoin holdings valued at approximately $47 million.
