XRP Ledger has disclosed two critical vulnerabilities that could have impacted network activity, as reported by security research firm Common Prefix. Discovered in 2025, these vulnerabilities involved the mechanism by which validator nodes process transaction sets. If a validator node within the Unique Node List (UNL) were compromised, an attacker could potentially crash other validator nodes by crafting malicious transaction data, thereby halting network progress. The development team has confirmed that these vulnerabilities have been addressed in the rippled 3.0.0 update, with the disclosure made public in March 2026.
