Crypto payment app WORPT has launched in Thailand under the Tourist DigiPay regulatory sandbox, enabling foreign tourists to convert USDT and USDC into Thai baht for spending via Thai QR PromptPay. Merchants receive payments directly in baht.
WORPT was jointly developed by Waan Exchange (Waanx), a digital asset exchange approved by Thailand's Securities and Exchange Commission, and Wipay, an e-money service provider regulated by the Bank of Thailand. Key partners include Tether, The Mall Group, and Visa. The platform plans to introduce a physical Visa prepaid card in mid-November, with a virtual card expected in early 2027.
