Polygon co-founder Sandeep Nailwal announced that approximately 25 million POL tokens are ready to be permanently burned, adding to the 100 million POL already removed from circulation through on-chain revenue. This cumulative burn represents roughly 1% of the total token supply, with additional amounts continuing to accumulate. The network is advancing multiple infrastructure upgrades, including block streaming aimed at reducing confirmation times to 1 millisecond following the recent PoS upgrade. Polymarket has also launched perpetual contracts on the chain, expanding Polygon's derivatives ecosystem. Nailwal highlighted the upcoming impact of Open Money Stack (OMS), an integrated infrastructure for stablecoin payments and settlement that unifies wallets, fiat ramps, and cross-chain routing through a single API. He stated that OMS is poised to generate approximately 1 million new daily transactions on the Polygon network.
