Polygon founder Sandeep announced that the network is prepared to permanently burn 100 million POL tokens. The burn contract is currently deployed on testnet and will migrate to mainnet following final approval from the Polygon Council. Once live, any user can trigger the initial burn event. Afterward, community members will be able to execute burn operations on a quarterly basis, establishing a recurring deflationary mechanism for the POL token.
