Magic Eden has identified a security vulnerability in the Limit Break-maintained Payment Processor V2 protocol that may impact NFTs listed on its EVM marketplace between February and October 2024. The marketplace ceased using the affected settlement protocol in October 2024 and fully shut down its EVM operations in Q1 2026, confirming that current active listings remain unaffected.
The platform is coordinating with Limit Break to investigate the issue and implement mitigation measures, including suspending asset transfers on the vulnerable protocol. Users who listed or traded NFTs on Magic Eden's EVM marketplace during the affected period are urged to revoke all "Approve for All" authorizations for the Limit Break: Payment Processor (V2) contract on Ethereum, Polygon, and Base via Revoke.cash. Magic Eden noted that revoking approvals cannot recover assets already transferred and credited white-hat researcher 0xQuit for disclosing the vulnerability.
