The Lido Community Staking Module (CSM) has proposed a new node operator type, Identified DVT Clusters (IDVTC), to enhance staker resilience. This initiative aims to allow verified independent community stakers (ICS) to collaboratively operate validators using Distributed Validator Technology (DVT), which significantly reduces slashing and downtime risks. Consequently, IDVTC members will face lower collateral requirements.
Each IDVTC cluster will consist of four independent ICS members, utilizing Obol or SSV to run validators and generate keys through Distributed Key Generation (DKG). The feature is anticipated to launch in the second or third quarter of 2026 as part of CSM v3, optimizing capital efficiency and operational resilience.
