INTERPOL has announced the results of its anti-fraud operation “Jackal IV,” which ran from November 2025 to June 2026 across 22 countries and regions. The operation targeted romance scams, cryptocurrency and investment fraud, email fraud, and money laundering, leading to 58 arrests and the identification of 263 suspects.
In Argentina, police dismantled a Crime-as-a-Service network that provided website domains and money laundering services, arresting 17 people and identifying 196 suspects. In South Africa, authorities raided seven sites in Johannesburg, arresting 39 suspects accused of running romance and investment scams targeting retirees in English-speaking countries, while seizing $2.67 million and freezing 257 bank accounts. Italian police identified one suspect tied to a cross-Europe money laundering network involving €845,000 through a single bank account, while Romanian police broke up an investment fraud ring, arresting 11 people and seizing cash, cryptocurrency, and real estate.
