Injective (INJ) has surged over 30% after transitioning to native USDC, a move supported by governance proposals. This shift enables cross-chain USDC transfers across more than 20 blockchains, enhancing the ecosystem's functionality. The native crypto of the high-performance layer-1 blockchain, designed for decentralized finance (DeFi) applications, has gained over 125% since April. The switch to native USDC, effective from May 7, 2026, replaces bridged assets like USDT and USDCnb, streamlining trading pairs and improving capital efficiency. Despite low voter turnout, the proposal for this migration is expected to pass, with 28.5% voting in favor and 74.2% abstaining. The change aims to unify the stablecoin platform, reducing friction for traders and enhancing liquidity.
