Franklin Templeton has completed the acquisition of 250 Digital, a crypto asset investment management firm, including its entire team and liquid cryptocurrency strategies previously managed by CoinFund. The acquisition marks a significant expansion into the digital asset space for Franklin Templeton. In conjunction with the acquisition, Franklin Templeton has launched a new division, Franklin Crypto, dedicated to active digital asset management. The division will be led by Christopher Perkins as Head and Seth Ginns as Chief Investment Officer, alongside Tony Pecore from the Franklin Templeton Digital Assets team. Franklin Crypto aims to provide institutionally focused, actively managed cryptocurrency investment strategies, leveraging the firm's existing digital asset research and risk management framework.
