CoinEx will cease operations and begin an orderly liquidation after citing a prolonged crypto market downturn, shrinking trading volume and liquidity, rising regulatory requirements, and compliance costs exceeding reasonable limits.
The platform will stop new user registrations and referral rewards on September 15, 2026, while futures enter reduce-only mode. All non-spot services will end on September 22, spot trading will stop on September 29, and CET in user accounts will be repurchased at 0.005 USDT per CET. Withdrawals remain open until December 22, when the platform will cease operations.
CoinEx said its asset reserve ratio exceeds 100% and user assets can be fully withdrawn. USDT not withdrawn by the deadline will move to independent custody with a monthly custody fee of 5% of the original balance. The exchange said this is its final official announcement and any later announcements under the CoinEx name are fraudulent.
