Brazilian authorities have apprehended eight individuals in connection with a Bitcoin robbery in São Paulo. The incident occurred in November 2024 after victims inadvertently revealed their Bitcoin holdings to a worker during an office renovation. The gang executed an armed robbery, seizing $54,000 in Bitcoin and $36,200 in other assets, including a truck and electronics. Investigators traced on-chain transactions and discovered a money laundering scheme involving shell companies. Most of the suspects have previous convictions and connections to the construction industry, highlighting a complex network behind the heist.
