Revolut is suspected of failing to identify a fraudulent request, potentially exposing some users’ personally identifiable information, according to on-chain investigator ZachXBT. The data reportedly includes passport or driver’s license copies, verification selfies, account statements, IBANs, withdrawal records, complete transaction histories including Bitcoin transactions, names, dates of birth, occupations, home addresses, email addresses, and phone numbers.
ZachXBT said the number of affected users may be limited but that the incident is suspected of targeting high-net-worth individuals. Several Revolut users reportedly received related security alert emails on September 11.
