Solana validators approved SGP-0002, a proposal to double the network’s disinflation rate. The measure closed with 176.29 million SOL voting in favor and 66.19 million SOL against, equal to 72.7% support after excluding abstentions and clearing the required two-thirds threshold. The proposal had been trailing six hours before the vote closed, but a late shift helped push it through. Kraken’s largest validator flipped about 8.1 million SOL from against to for in the final hours. Under the change, Solana is now set to reach its 1.5% terminal inflation floor around 2029 instead of 2032, reducing projected emissions by about 18.9 million SOL.
