Ethereum Layer 2 network Silicon has begun winding down operations after stopping new bridge deposits on September 2. Users must withdraw all assets before December 31, when the network and its block explorer will go offline and any remaining funds will become unrecoverable.
About $9.75 million in assets remains on-chain, including $2.66 million in USDC, $2.54 million in WBTC, $2.08 million in ETH, and $1.85 million in USDT. Assets bridged from the Ethereum mainnet can be withdrawn directly during the shutdown window, while tokens issued directly on Silicon cannot be bridged back and may only be swapped subject to available on-chain liquidity. Silicon also said its Web3 wallet will be discontinued.
