Zora co-founder D. Goens has taken over as CEO after co-founder Jacob stepped down to begin the next phase of his career. Goens said he will continue leading the Zora team as the platform expands its product roadmap and community initiatives.
Since this summer, Zora has added issuance on Robinhood and Solana, cross-chain trading on BNB Chain, and a Custom Pairs feature for creating tokens pegged to tokenized stocks, meme coins, and mainstream assets. More than 4,000 trading pairs have been created, while users can now trade across supported networks, transact via private messages through Zora Agent, and use newly opened social features.
Goens said Zora’s next priorities include buyback and reward mechanisms for $ZORA holders, stronger communication to rebuild community trust, improved mobile product experience, resumed community incentive distributions, and more active responses to community feedback. The company completed layoffs earlier this year, reducing its team to fewer than 10 people while increasing its use of AI agents for Slack communication, coding, and incident handling.
