Samsung Electronics reported third-quarter 2026 net profit of 75.21 trillion won ($56.1 billion), a 526% year-over-year surge driven by the AI-powered memory chip super-cycle. Revenue reached 195.25 trillion won ($145.6 billion), up 127% from 86.06 trillion won in the same period last year. The explosive growth reflects sustained demand for high-bandwidth memory (HBM) and DRAM as large-model training and inference workloads accelerate globally. Inventory clearing combined with rising chip prices sharply restored Samsung's semiconductor gross margins, propelling single-quarter earnings to more than six times the roughly $10 billion recorded a year earlier. Market analysts suggest the memory price upcycle remains only halfway through, with Samsung's elevated earnings trajectory likely to continue as long as AI computing expansion persists.
