Schwartz, known in the crypto community as "@JoelKatz," was instrumental in developing the XRP Ledger alongside Arthur Britto and Jed McCaleb in 2011. His appointment is expected to bolster the foundation's technical management and governance, leveraging his extensive experience in cryptography and ledger infrastructure. The XRPLF aims to support the decentralized development of the XRP Ledger, including managing its core codebase and supporting global developer initiatives.
