S&P Global Ratings granted UK digital bank Revolut its first investment-grade rating of BBB+ on Thursday. The agency expects the fintech to issue senior unsecured bonds in 2027 to build a debt buffer capable of absorbing potential losses and meeting regulatory requirements.
Revolut's balance sheet has surpassed £40 billion (approximately $53.5 billion). S&P noted that in the event of a failure, the Bank of England could pursue restructuring with investors bearing corresponding losses.
