Digital asset treasury companies have climbed to a combined market capitalization of about $340 billion, up 10% since mid-August, according to The Block. The sector remains below the roughly $490 billion recorded in October and November last year, when Bitcoin reached an all-time high of $126,000.
Performance across the sector has diverged. Strategy gained 30% and Bitmine rose 27%, broadly tracking advances in Bitcoin and Ethereum, while Strategy outperformed BTC by 10 percentage points since August 17. Newly launched altcoin-focused DATs posted stronger gains, with Zcash-linked CYPH up 142% and Hyperliquid-linked PURR up 62%, compared with 56% and 36% gains in ZEC and HYPE over the same period.
Some DATs have also expanded their role within crypto ecosystems by staking ETH, operating validator nodes, and participating in mining, adding operational exposure beyond simple asset holdings.
